Vaccines

Research1 has shown vaccination, weaning and horn status may be leaving money on the auction block.

Buyers were willing to pay on average per hundredweight more for feeders:

Wormed & vaccinated against respiratory & black leg $1.93 /cwt

Weaned for 30 days $5.35 /cwt

Weaned for 45 days $10.22 /cwt

Wormed, vaccinated (respiratory and black leg) & weaned for 45 days up to $12.15 /cwt

Cattle with horns are discounted $15 -$20 cwt

All price adjustments are estimates based on market research.
